On the way, we cross a huge black sand desert. And like most desert there is an oasis with a few cabins, snuggled together next to a river with nice warm water from a near by lava field. Where you have the possibility of going for a swim, if you wish. This oasis has it all.

We continue passing one of Iceland´s and Europe´s most unpredictable and notorious volcanoes, Hekla. It has erupted 4 times in 10 year cycles, in just over 40 years.
