From the city of Reykjavik, we travel east to visit three very special places of history, power and beauty.

We visit Thingvellir, site of the World’s first Parliament that met each year outdoors, beginning in 930 AD continuing until 1798. After we have been at Thingvellir we drive to the geothermal fields of Haukadalurwhere you will be able to stand up close to an erupting geyser.

In Haukadalur we will gear up and go for a ride on ATV‘s (All Terrain Vehicles). From there you will first go through Haukadalsskógur over scenic creeks and surrounded by forest wilderness. Then we go on top of Haukadalsheiði where the landscape quickly turns into the surface of the moon. From there you can witness natures power at it’s core, on one hand you have the magnificent Glacier Langjökull, Europe’s second largest glacier, on the other hand you will have Hekla a notorious volcano that is due to erupt at any time now.

Then we continue through off-road paths to Gullfoss waterfall. From there on we drive Kjölur, one of Iceland’s most popular highland road and then continue towards Langjökull until we reach Lake Sandvatn. From Lake Sandvatn we will head back to the Geysir and then go back to Reykjavik.
